Oakland Park Kitchen Cabinet Painting: Cognac Shaker to White

This Oakland Park kitchen had wood shaker cabinets in a dark cognac stain, worn through at the edges and around the hinges after years of use. The cabinets themselves were solid, so instead of replacing them we refinished everything on-site: the perimeter cabinets, the island, the glass-front uppers, the wine rack and the crown molding.

We covered the floors and countertops, masked the glass, and took every door off to sand, prime and spray it. The cabinet boxes were sanded with dust extraction and sprayed in place, including the inside of the glass cabinets, so they look as finished inside as out.

The result is a bright white kitchen with a smooth sprayed finish that sits well with the existing granite and green walls. New pulls complete the look, at a fraction of the cost of new cabinets.
